The Folk High School

The folk high school system remains unique to Scandinavia. It is a one-year boarding school, primarily for young adults between the ages of 18 and 20. The school has no exams, and areas concerning academic subjects place focus on dialogue rather than lectures and tests. Emphasis is placed on practical and social activities as well, and thus a year at a folk high school may be said to prepare you for life itself.
